Contractors Keepmoat and Wates have become part of a £500m framework to upgrade the housing stock under the Community Energy Saving Programme.

The Office of Fair Trading has referred the planned merger of construction materials giants Tarmac and Lafarge to the Competition Commission. The plan to merge the companies were announced in February this year and the OFT has been examining the deal and taken evidence from 300 customers and competitors, reaching the conclusion that competition concerns arising justifies a reference to the Competition Commission.
