Should HR be recognised at Director level?
At the present time, no HR Director sits on the executive board of any FTSE 100 company.
With more companies beginning to realise the true value of people as they attract business on a global basis and with the UK moving from a manufacturing to a service industry, is now the time that HR was recognised by the board as a vital part of the company?
In the current economic climate, the HR Director is one of the key executives within a company that knows how the business functions on all levels, the same with the Financial Director who will always have a place on the board.
As talent management becomes a major conversation point within the executive agenda, is now the right time for HR Directors to be in a position to influence board decisions?
Do you think human resources should be aligned with the rest of the executive board?
