Sainsbury’s has appointed David Furness as the new managing director to cover the north of England. Mr Furness previously worked as the Operations Director for DIY chain Wickes and comes into his new role with 27 years experience in retail.

This is a great time for David to be joining Sainsbury’s as there is speculation that Sainsbury’s are one of the companies that could soon be in a bidding war to buy the frozen food company, Iceland.
